ProductivityTools is an extension for Daylite that includes, among other things, the Calendar Exporter. It lets you automatically export Daylite appointments as a subscribable ICS calendar file, based on a smart list saved in Daylite.
This makes it possible, for example, to publish only the calendar of a specific user or a specific category so it can be subscribed to in third-party calendar apps. To learn more about the other features of ProductivityTools, see What are the ProductivityTools?

How do I export a Daylite calendar using ProductivityTools?
If you want to export a calendar based on a smart list, please proceed as follows:
- Create a smart list with the events you want to export in Daylite
- Navigate to Plug-Ins → ProductivityTools → Settings → Calendar Export
- Add a new export with the + button and name it
- Select the filter list and adjust the export accordingly
- The Use individual time period function allows you to export specific time periods
- Specify a folder and name for the exported file
- Activate the automatic export and click Export Now
Please note: Due to recent changes in Dropbox, the file location Dropbox shown in the video tutorial is no longer available. If you would like to save the file into your Dropbox (or any other local folder), you can do so by selecting Local from the File location drop-down menu and setting the File path to the desired (Dropbox) folder accordingly.
To retrieve the public link of the exported ICS calendar file, open the Finder on your Mac, navigate to the location of the file, right-click it and select Copy Dropbox link.
Please note: the string dl=0 at the end of the link needs to be changed to dl=1, otherwise it is not possible to subscribe to the calendar.

What time period is exported if no time frame is set?
If you don't specify a time frame in the Calendar Exporter settings, the appointments from the past 5 years up to 5 years into the future are exported. To learn how to set up the export, see How do I export a Daylite calendar using ProductivityTools?
Does ProductivityTools export the entire calendar?
No. The Calendar Exporter only exports the appointments contained in the underlying smart list, not the entire user calendar automatically. This makes it possible, for instance, to export only appointments of a specific category or appointments owned by a certain Daylite user.
Does ProductivityTools also export appointments created through an external invitation?
Yes, external appointments can also be exported. The prerequisite is that they are contained in the corresponding filter list. External appointments are appointments that were not created in Daylite, but were added to Daylite by accepting an invitation from an external contact.
Does ProductivityTools export private appointments?
No. Appointments with permissions set to Private are generally excluded from the export.
Advanced use
How can I use a SFTP server?
The ProductivityTools Calendar Exporter currently supports FTP servers only. To be able to use SFTP nevertheless, this is a viable workaround:
- Automatically mount the desired SFTP directory on the Mac performing the calendar export
- In ProductivityTools settings under Calendar Exports, select Local as the file location and the SFTP directory connected to the Mac as the file path
The appointments are then exported directly into the desired SFTP directory, and access to the exported appointments can take place via the SFTP server.

Troubleshooting
Why doesn't the Calendar Exporter export any appointments?
In case the ProductivityTools' calendar export does not work as expected, please check the following:
- Is the Mac with ProductivityTools installed up and running, and is the Daylite app opened?
- Is the calendar file (.ics) being created in the selected file path?
- If the file is being created and you share it via Dropbox, an FTP server or a web server: is it accessible via the corresponding link?
- Has a file name for the exported .ics file been specified in the ProductivityTools calendar export settings?
- If the file is shared via an FTP server, the FTP path specified in the settings needs to end with /
- If the file is shared via Dropbox, the string dl=0 at the end of the link needs to be changed to dl=1
