Free trial

Using Daylite from the Mac App Store
Besides the regular Daylite app you can download on our website, Daylite is now also available in the Mac App Store. Due to Apple's strict rules for apps in its App Store, the App Store version of the Daylite app comes with the following limitations:
- iOSXpert extensions for Daylite and also plugins from other manufacturers cannot be used
- The Daylite Mail Assistant (DMA) for Apple Mail is not available
If you are unsure which Daylite version is currently installed on your Mac, you can check the version as follows:
- Start the Daylite app
- Click File in the menu bar and select About Daylite
- The following window shows you the version number and the source of the app. If it shows (Direct), you are using the regular Daylite app available on the website without any limitations. In case it shows (App Store) after the version number, the App Store version with the limitations mentioned above is installed
If you have the App Store version installed but you would like to use DMA and the iOSXpert plugins, you can switch to the regular Daylite app at any time. Please follow these steps to do so:
- Quit Daylite
- Download and install the regular Daylite version. When you move the newly downloaded Daylite app into the Applications folder, confirm to replace the existing Daylite app. This removes the App Store version of the Daylite app
- The regular Daylite app and the iOSXpert PluginCenter are now ready to be used
Licenses & account
Managing licenses
Start Daylite and open the iOSXpert PluginCenter either using the [iO] button at the top of the Daylite window or the Daylite preferences.
Select Manage Licenses within the PluginCenter.
Please note that this feature is only available to Daylite administrators and superusers.

A pop-up window will open where you can see a matrix of Daylite users in your database and the plugins we have developed. At this point, the Daylite administrator or superuser can assign to each user the plugins that this user needs or take away from the user a plugin that is no longer needed.
By clicking the Apply Changes button and confirming the new subscription, the changes will be applied.
If the changes do not appear automatically in Daylite, please go to Plug-Ins -> PluginCenter in the menu bar and select Synchronize PluginCenter account by holding down the Shift key.
Please note: all Daylite users who would like to use iOSXpert plugins, need to install the desired plugins individually on their Macs. To do so, simply select the plugin icon and click Try / Install.

License per user
We offer 2 subscription plans, the Plus Package for Daylite and Plugin Seats. In our PluginCenter a Daylite administrator can easily manage the subscriptions of the users in the database. When subscribing to the Plus Package for Daylite, all active users automatically receive a valid license for all plugins. When subscribing to Plugin Seats, a license must be assigned to each Daylite user who wants to use a plugin.
A user can use the plugins on as many Macs as they need. So if you have an iMac and a MacBook, you only need one license and can install the plugins on both devices.

Message: create a new account even though you already have one
After the initial installation of the PluginCenter, you will receive the message depicted below, if no PluginCenter account had been created for this particular Daylite database before.
A PluginCenter account is only valid for the Daylite database from which it was originally created. The PluginCenter account information is stored centrally in the Daylite database and applies to all users. It is not possible to use one PluginCenter account in conjunction with multiple Daylite databases.
If you use multiple Daylite databases alternately, you need a separate PluginCenter account for each database. Please note: each PluginCenter account requires its own e-mail address. Registering multiple PluginCenter accounts with the same email address is not possible.
If you have created a PluginCenter account for a trial database that you no longer use, but would like to use the e-mail address associated with this PluginCenter account for a new account, please contact our support.
