This article covers integrating a Fritzbox phone into Daylite with our Fone&Text plugin.
The manufacturer of Fritzbox, AVM, has in recent years increasingly cut or closed the interfaces that use the telephone software such as the fritz.mac suite from Danholt, but also our plug-in Fone&Text to communicate with the Fritzbox. This means that Fritzbox routers cannot be addressed correctly with the current FritzOS and therefore no longer work with Fone&Text.
Since the operation of an older Fritzbox with Fone&Text can work with Fone&Text, but we cannot guarantee this, we decided to deliver the Fritzbox driver with Fone&Text, but to mark it as "experimental" because of the mentioned limitations.
For Fritzbox users, the following alternatives are available, where the communication does not take place between Fone&Text and Fritzbox but between Fone&Text and the phone or the phone software:
- Using the Fritzbox with the Bria phone software on your Mac
- Using the Fritzbox with the iSoftPhone phone software on your Mac
- Connecting a Gigaset DX800A phone to the Fritzbox
