When synchronizing Daylite contacts with Mailchimp via the plugin Marketing&Chat, it can happen that contacts are added to the subgroup Errors. This can have several reasons on Daylite's or Mailchimp's side. A contact is not synchronized for one of the following reasons:
- The contact does not have a valid email address in Daylite, for example no @ included
- There is no email address stored at the contact in Daylite
- The email address of the contact is not set as primary email address
- The contact has been set to the status Cleaned in Mailchimp
- As soon as an email address no longer exists, for example it has been deactivated, this triggers a hard bounce in Mailchimp. As a result, the contact is immediately set to Cleaned and is no longer charged from Mailchimp.
- If an email can no longer be delivered to a mailbox, for example because it is already full, a soft bounce is triggered. After 7 soft bounces, Mailchimp also sets the contact to Cleaned.
All contacts in the status Cleaned can be found directly in Mailchimp. Proceed as follows:
- Navigate in Mailchimp in the left sidebar to Audience
- Select the status Email cleaned under Subscribtion status
As soon as a cleaned contact gets a new primary email address in Daylite, the contact can be transferred to Mailchimp again. This does not update the cleaned contact, as it is blocked in Mailchimp, but creates a new contact with the new email address.
