Just like most other software applications Daylite needs to be updated on a regular basis, for example to keep the compatibility with the operating system.
Search for updates automatically
To have Daylite search automatically for updates, you need to activate this in the Daylite Update Settings. Proceed as follows:
- Open Daylite
- In the menu bar navigate to Daylite -> Update Settings...
- Next to Check for should be set to Official Releases
- Tick the checkbox Check Automatically
Search updates manually
Follow these steps to search for a Daylite update manually:
- Open Daylite
- In the menu bar navigate to Daylite -> Check for Updates
- You'll now either receive a message that Daylite is up to date or you will be presented with the chance to update to a later version
Important note: Please remember that the last Daylite version for macOS 10.12 (Sierra) is 2019.44. You need to update your operating system to obtain a later Daylite version.
We generally recommend to use versions of macOS greater than 10.13 (High Sierra) in combination with Daylite.
Daylite Versions
We recommend updates to official releases of Daylite. These have usually been tested thoroughly.
Daylite Beta Versions
Daylite Beta versions should only be used after speaking to our support team as these are often in their early version stages (beta) and may cause unwanted side effects.
If the support team recommends to install a beta version, proceed as follows:
- Open Daylite
- In the menu bar navigate to Daylite -> Update Settings...
- Select Beta Builds from the dropdown and click on Check now
