How do I add an email account to Daylite on iPhone/iPad?

This article covers setting up an email account in the Daylite app so that you can work with your emails directly in the Daylite app. 

Please note: Both Google and Apple use two-factor authentication systems when integrating their email services (iCloud and Gmail) to provide enhanced security. Please follow the advice provided in the Daylite app to set up these account types successfully. 

Setting up iCloud email

Please note that prior to setting up Daylite you need to create an app-specific password for Daylite on your iCloud account. Follow these instructions. After setting this up, proceed as follows:

1. Open the Daylite app. In the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen tap on My Mail and select Add Mail Account.
   
   
   
   
2. From the list of account types, choose iCloud.
3. Enter your iCloud email address and the app-specific password that you need to set up with Apple for iCloud integrations.
   
   
   
   For additional advice tap on the Learn More link in the app.
4. Enter the name of the account holder and a short description about the account, then tap Save.

Setting up another IMAP account 

1. Open the Daylite app. In the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen tap on My Mail and select Add Mail Account.
   
   
   
   
2. Select Other IMAP.
   
   
   
   
3. Enter the email address and password.
   
   
   
   
4. In many cases a further configuration of the email servers is required. 
   Enter the details for the incoming mail server in the upper part of this window.
   
   
   
   Please add the details for the outgoing mail server in the lower part of the window.
   
   
   
   Hint: If you want to double-check your email server settings, have a look in Apple Mail on your Mac! In Apple Mail go to the Preferences (menu bar -> Mail -> Preferences) and click on Accounts. Chose your email account from the listed accounts on the left, then click on the tab Server Settings. 
   
   After providing the additional settings, tap on Next.
   
   
5.  Enter the name of the account holder and a short description about the account, then tap Save.
