Basics
What is the Copilot?
The Copilot is a separate window that you can either attach magnetically to your Daylite window or open as an independent window, for example on a second screen.
In the Copilot itself, you can display various widgets that are related to the selected Daylite data record.
If you are on a person in Daylite, you can, for example, display relevant HelpCenter articles, the details of the linked company or a map view of the address. Depending on the Daylite extension you have installed, more or fewer widgets are available to you.
Here are some examples:
To find out how to add a widget, see How do I add a widget in Copilot?. For a complete overview of all available widgets, see What widgets are available for the Copilot?.
How do I activate and deactivate the Copilot?
You can activate the copilot using the Open Copilot button in the Daylite menu bar.
The copilot opens and you have the option to configure it. To deactivate the Copilot, simply close the Copilot window.
Copilot Tab
What is the Copilot Tab?
The Copilot Tab is an alternative to the free Copilot. The Copilot Tab can be activated on all Daylite objects and is displayed instead of the activity history. There is a separate Activities widget so that the activities are still visible. The Copilot Tab can also be activated on objects that have no history, for example on tasks. As the Copilot Tab is integrated directly into the Daylite window, it is particularly suitable for smaller screens.
Here are a few examples:
To add a widget in the Copilot Tab, proceed as follows:
- Activate the Copilot Tab
- Click Edit below the Copilot Tab
- Select where you want the additional widgets to be displayed and click Done
- Select the widgets from the dropdown menu
For a complete overview of all available widgets, see What widgets are available for the Copilot?.
How can I see the activity history when the Copilot Tab is activated?
The Copilot Tab replaces the activity history of a Daylite object. So that you can still see the activities in addition to the many helpful widgets, we offer an Activities widget. This widget shows the history of the Daylite object. In addition, this widget is also available on objects such as tasks or emails that do not have an activity history by default.

You can also add a widget via the widget configuration drop-down menu. You can choose whether a widget should be added below or to the right of the active widget.
How can I pin an object in the Details widget?
It is often necessary to display an informative email, a relevant appointment or another important object from the Daylite activity history directly when opening a Daylite object. With the Copilot it is possible to permanently pin a selected object. This function is part of our Plus Package for Daylite.
To activate it, proceed as follows:
- Open the Daylite preferences
- Select Plus Package
- Navigate to Alternate views
- Activate Pin in Detail Widget
To pin an object permanently, proceed as follows:
- Navigate to an object, for example a company or a project, and open the Copilot
- Open the detail widget
- Select an object that you would like to pin:
- Within the activities widget of the Copilot
- By selecting a linked object in the detail view
- Now click on the pin icon
to pin the object
- By clicking on the pin icon again or by pinning another object, you unpin the previous object.
| Important: Pinning an object only affects the user's view and not the entire database. Objects can only be pinned for you personally. |

How do I configure the Copilot?
You have a wide range of options for configuring the Copilot to suit your individual needs. The configuration for the Copilot even goes so far that you can make individual presettings for each Daylite object type (people, companies, projects, etc.) and these are automatically saved.
Attach the Copilot and customize the window
Use the Customize daylite window button
the Daylite window and the Copilot are automatically adjusted to the screen.
By activating the pin symbol
you have the option of anchoring the Copilot to the Daylite window so that it moves with the Daylite window and follows it.
If you deactivate this option, you can move the Copilot freely to use it on a second screen, for example.
