OneDrive is a cloud storage service by Microsoft that allows users to centrally store, organize, share files, and synchronize them across multiple devices. With the OneDrive integration in the plugin DayliteDocs, you can link existing OneDrive folders to people, companies, projects, and opportunities or create them with a single click within your folder structure. OneDrive files or folders can be delegated as tasks with file references. Using the public OneDrive link, you gain direct access to files, even on your iPhone and iPad.

Setting up the integration
To set up the OneDrive integration in Daylite, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the PluginCenter and open DayliteDocs
- Click on OneDrive
Your MS Office administrator must activate the integration. If you are not the administrator of your Microsoft enviroment, you can click on the green button to copy the link and send it to your administrator
- Log in with your OneDrive credentials
- Retrieve the path to your OneDrive folder in the Finder
- Optionally define subfolders that will be created directly within the main OneDrive folder in Daylite
- Specify which custom fields on contacts, opportunities, and projects should store the public links and Finder links
| Attention: Since Microsoft offers a large variety of models and configurations, it is possible that the integration cannot be set up in your OneDrive environment. Please check the backend settings of your Microsoft installation, or have your administrator do so. Unfortunately, we can only offer limited support here due to the complexity of Microsoft’s configuration options. |
Features of the OneDrive integration
Linking and creating folders
This option allows you to link an existing OneDrive folder to the selected Daylite object. Simply select the desired folder to link it. All files and subfolders contained in the linked folder will be displayed.
Alternatively, you can create a new folder for the selected Daylite object by clicking the Create Folder button.
In the next menu, choose the target folder and assign a folder name. If you would like to automatically create subfolders, enable the function Create automatic subfolders. These folders are configured in the OneDrive integration settings. You can also store the public Dropbox link in a predefined custom field. Determine who has access to the link and whether it can only be viewed or also edited.
Working with Drop Zones
Drop Zones allow you to drag & drop files from macOS Finder directly into a linked OneDrive folder in Daylite. Drop Zone 1 copies files into the main folder, Drop Zone 2 copies files into the selected subfolder.
Please note that it may take some time for files added via Drop Zones to appear in Daylite.
The Action Menu
The OneDrive icon provides access to additional functions:
- Delete the link to the OneDrive folder
- Set the name of the Daylite object as the folder name
- Show the OneDrive folder in Finder
- Add or manage the public OneDrive link
Creating Tasks from Files
By right-clicking a file or folder within the OneDrive integration in Daylite, you can directly create a task from that file. The selected file or folder is immediately linked to the task.
Sharing Files
Selected files can be directly shared with other applications using the Share function, for example via iMessage. This allows files to be quickly and easily distributed from within Daylite.
Open With and Show in Finder
Beneath the preview window, you will find the options Open With and Show in Finder. Open With displays a list of applications installed on your Mac that can open the selected file. Clicking an application will open the file in that service. The Show in Finder button reveals the selected file or folder directly in Finder.
