This article covers working with opportunities in Daylite.
Opportunities are among the most important objects in Daylite. It represents an opportunity for new business. Use Daylite opportunities as a great collector for all information relating to this new business opportunity!
There are multiple ways to create a new opportunity in Daylite. You can click the +New button when viewing Home, navigate to the All Opportunities or My Opportunities section and click +New Opportunity or create one from an already selected Daylite object by clicking ... in the top right corner and choosing New Opportunity.
To get to your opportunities, navigate in the sidebar via the Objectives section to My Opportunities.
Adding people, companies and roles
When setting up a new opportunity, make sure that every relevant person internally and externally is linked to it. To link a person when setting up an opportunity, click Add Person and search for the person. Double-click to link them.
To link a new company to your opportunity, click Add Company. Double-click to link them.
Make sure you add a role for each person and company you add so that everybody understands who does what in this specific opportunity. Daylite will display a dropdown menu for each person and company allowing you to set individual roles for each linked record.
Adding linked objects
When you have created an opportunity, make sure you link all relevant Daylite objects to it, like tasks, emails, files etc when you're working on these objects. Linked objects will display in the opportunity's activity history.
A Pipeline is a feature of Daylite that you can use to give your projects or opportunities additional structure. Think of pipelines as blueprints for your business workflows. Your can configure your pipeline to have multiple stages, each stage containing tasks and/or appointments. To select a pipeline for an opportunity, navigate to the Tasks & Pipeline section of the opportunity and chose the pipeline you want to implement.
